Sinulog is held yearly on the 3rd Sunday of January in Cebu City, Philippines to honor the Santo Niño (child Jesus). The festival commemorates the acceptance of Roman Catholicism in our country.
The celebration lasts for 9 days. A solemn procession before the day of the parade takes place along the streets of Magallanes and ends at the Basilica del Sto. Niño. There are also pocket celebrations of the festival held in different parts of the province.
Sinulog has been tagged as the grandest festival in our country.

the 5’9 Fil-Black American stunner April Smith, Lumad Basakanon’s lead dancer, gained something even better when she was crowned as Sinulog Festival Queen 2012 last Friday at the Cebu City Sports Center.
Aside from being chosen as the fairest of all festival queens this year, Smith was also chosen as the Best Solo Performer, Best in Festival Costume in her outfit designed by Danny Booc, Ms. PLDT and Ms. Smart where she was given two cell phone units.
